Chubby Checker sues HP over penis-length estimator app of same name

The conflict: In 2011, Hewlett-Packard subsidiary Palm released the Chubby Checker, an app that allows ladies to estimate a potential partner’s endowment based on his shoe size. Preferring to be known as a chart-topper and not a penis-length estimator, Checker launched a $500-million lawsuit against HP for trademark infringement.

The outcome: The Chubby Checker app was removed from Palm and HP websites in September 2012 after HP was contacted by Checker’s lawyers. Given that one source estimates only 84 curious/worried people ever downloaded the 99¢ app, the real twist to this story would be Checker actually getting that $500 million.
