It should come as no surprise that Research in Motion tops our annual Tech 100 ranking as Canada’s largest technology company, proving co-CEO Jim Balsillie has a day job when he’s not pursuing hockey teams. But perhaps more interesting than the list itself is that there are a number of budding tech plays led by strong-willed entrepreneurs waiting to take their companies public. Could one of them be the next Michael Lazaridis or Terry Matthews?
