1987 After working for seven years at various Toronto-area high-tech companies, becomes an operations executive at Dalsa Inc., then a fledgling maker of image sensors.
1994 Hired as chief operating officer of Open Text, which has $1 million in venture capital and is just back from the brink of bankruptcy. Becomes president by year??s end; CEO in 1997; and chairman in 1998.
1996 Open Text goes public on Nasdaq; its stock rises 47% in the first day. Company lists on the TSX in 1998.
2007 The now-executive chairman and chief strategy officer joins Prime Minister??s Office??s Competition Policy Review Panel.
