Pioneer DV-363-S

Pioneer’s DV-363-S PureCinema Progressive Scanning slim line DVD player is available in black or silver for $179 retail. This product “is a great addition to any home theatre,” says Roger Archambault, senior product specialist, home electronics, Pioneer Electronics of Canada Inc. “With its easy set-up navigator and intuitive remote, you’ll be watching DVD movies in no time.” The unit can also play back MP3 and WMA files on CDs and CD-R/RWs, as well as DVD-R/RWs, V-CDs and SVCDs.

HP Photosmart 145

The Photosmart 145 is one of Hewlett-Packard’s newest compact 4×6″ photo printers and is capable of producing a photo in as little as a minute-and-a-half. Priced at $199.99 retail, the Photosmart 145 gives users the option of printing photos at home or while on the go, either with or without a computer. “Take the HP Photosmart portable printer to events, parties and family gatherings and you have a fast, easy way to print professional-looking 4×6″ photos directly from your digital camera’s memory card — no PC required,” says HP category business manager, Lori Abbott.

Samsung YP-35H

Samsung’s YP-35H is part of the Yepp line of audio players. At an MSRP of $199.99, it’s small but powerful with 128MB of built-in flash memory, multi-format support (MP3, WMA) and upgradeable firmware. You can also record your own memos with its built-in voice encoder. “This tiny workhorse has a lot of great features at a good price — and the sound quality is just awesome,” enthuses Louis Kim, corporate marketing manager, Samsung Electronics Canada Inc. The player features a backlit LCD display with ID3 Tag Display, which shows the title and file name.

The Epson Perfection 1670 Photo Scanner, priced at $149, allows you to digitize and restore your old faded photos at the touch of a button.
