This side of the McCain clan has the largest share in the family firm, McCain Foods. Last April, the company announced a $65-million expansion of a potato processing plant in Florenceville, N.B., the town where it was founded. The business also made its debut as a tech investor, contributing to Series B funding for Fredericton drone crop-monitoring startup Resson Aerospace, and announced a research program in the works aimed at developing precision agriculture technologies for the potato industry.

Though a management team of hired guns manages day-to-day operations, Harrison’s son Mark is active as deputy chairman of the board. His daughter Ann is a director of the McCain Foundation and chairs a separate charitable organization named for her father.
