Since Wallace McCain’s death in May 2011, his sons have been streamlining the business at Maple Leaf Foods Inc. Earlier this year, Maple Leaf sold its Canada Bread division to Mexico’s Grupo Bimbo for $1.83 billion. In June, Wallace’s eldest son, J. Scott, stepped down as president and COO of the company’s Agribusiness Group, selling all his shares. His other son, Michael, continues to serve as president and CEO.
