Why he matters: Pushes businesses to go abroad
After taking over for Bank of Canada governor Stephen Poloz at EDC in 2014, Benoit Daignault hasn’t wasted any time getting down to business. This spring, he called on Canadian CEOs to “get their hands dirty” and look beyond the U.S. for export opportunities. Canada’s economy is sluggish as a result of low oil prices, and hopes are high that exporters can step up, expand and juice growth. Daignault is the guy who can help them get there.
