Why he matters: Returned to finish the job
No sooner had Darren Entwistle settled into the position of executive chair of Telus Communications last summer than the board called him back. He returned to fill the void left by Toronto-based president and CEO Joe Natale who (reportedly) declined to make the required move to the company’s head office in Vancouver. In public appearances, Entwistle sounds as determined as ever to finish what he started in 2000, turning the western telephone company into the country’s most dynamic communications carrier and dominant manager of digitized health records.
