The Hootsuite founder has maintained headquarters in Vancouver even though many large corporate customers are based in the U.S. With 10 million users (including many of the world’s biggest companies) deploying Hootsuite to manage social media marketing, the company has proven it’s possible to grow a global client base from Gastown. Holmes has also played advisor, mentor and investor to several local startups. With Hootsuite seemingly heading for a nine-figure IPO, Holmes is set to become an even bigger advertisement for Vancouver’s tech community.
