You’re unlikely to spend July returning backhands at Wimbledon, but you’re still going to sweat. And while your watch case is well-built and prepared for the onslaught of salts and bacterial grossness, its fancy strap, not so much.
Here’s a solution: pick up some spare NATO straps. These military-inspired bands—sometimes called G10s, after the Ministry of Defence form British soldiers had to fill out to get one—are inexpensive, easily replaced and come in nylon and leather versions. They also look sharp with watch faces both elaborate and plain. Take Omega’s iconic Speedmaster dial. It’s the model that accompanied NASA astronauts on all six lunar missions. They wore it on a simple black nylon band. It looked cool up there, just as it does on Earth.
