WINNIPEG – Plans for a major development in downtown Winnipeg have been unveiled.
True North Square will feature four mixed-use towers including retail, office, hotel and residential spaces.
Jim Ludlow of True North Sports and Entertainment says the square aims to be as transformative for Winnipeg as Dundas Square and Nathan Phillips is to Toronto.
The company, in partnership with James Richardson and Sons Ltd., says the first building in the $400-million project is expected to be completed by July 2018 and the last two will be done by the summer of 2020.
The city and province announced in January that they would spend $26.6 million on public amenities connected to the square.
True North Sports and Entertainment is also the owner of the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets.
