A British Airways jet that was damaged by fire during an aborted takeoff in Las Vegas in September has arrived at a California airport.
Flight records show the Boeing 777 departed McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas at about 1:30 p.m. Friday. It landed a little after 3 p.m. at an airfield in nearby Victorville.
An airline spokeswoman says the jet will be repainted before being flown back to the United Kingdom.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the Sept. 8 fire.
British Airways Flight 2276 was about to take off for London when it screeched to a halt and 170 passengers and crew members escaped down evacuation slides.
Officials say the damaged General Electric engine has been replaced, and photos show the left wing was repaired and the fuselage was patched.
Aircraft flightworthiness tests were conducted Thursday on an inactive runway at McCarran.

An airline spokeswoman says the repaired Boeing 777 was heading to a facility in Victorville, California, to be repainted before being flown back to the United Kingdom.

Flightworthiness tests are being conducted in Las Vegas on a British Airways jet that was damaged by an engine fire while passengers escaped an aborted takeoff almost six months ago.
An airport spokeswoman says the repaired Boeing 777 was towed late Thursday to an inactive runway at McCarran International Airport for engine testing.
Firefighters stood by, but no mishaps were reported.
British Airways isn’t saying when the jet will be flown out of Las Vegas.
