Ellis County sheriff’s deputies escorted some Milford residents briefly to their homes Friday to collect medication and check on pets. Sheriff’s spokeswoman Jo Ann Livingston said the evacuation order remained in effect Friday night for the area within a 1 1/2-mile radius from the pipeline puncture.
