DALLAS – Heavy fog has delayed or cancelled dozens of flights in North Texas.
The National Weather Service issued a dense fog advisory Tuesday morning for the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport reported about 50 departures cancelled due to fog. Spokesman David Magana (muh-GAWN’-yuh) says 40 inbound flights were diverted but some of those planes arrived later Tuesday morning.
Magana says travellers at DFW airport should expect flight delays throughout the day.
A spokesman for Dallas Love Field says the airport remained open but that arrivals are delayed due to the fog.
Emily Samuels with Dallas-based Southwest Airlines says departures were getting out at the carrier’s main hub, Love Field, but the problems are with planes landing. Samuels did not have specifics about the number of Southwest arrivals delayed.
