Quebec's Caisse de depot acquires Australia's I-Med for undisclosed sum

MONTREAL – The Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec says it has acquired Australia-based I-Med, a supplier of diagnostic imaging services that operates 200 clinics in that country.

Financial terms of the deal with EQT Mid Market and GIC were not immediately available.

The 300 radiologists and other specialists in I-Med’s network treat some four million patients each year.

The Quebec pension fund manager has made investments over the last few years in the Australian market, including the Port of Brisbane and in seven infrastructure projects in partnership with Plenary Group.

The Caisse manages and invests funds for public and private pension and insurance plans in Quebec.

As of Dec. 31, it had $200 billion in net assets.
