A number of major Canadian companies say they’ll be increasing payouts to their shareholders.
Quebecor (TSX:QBR.B) says its quarterly dividend will rise 40 per cent to 3.5 cents per share.
Manulife Financial (TSX:MFC) is raising its quarterly dividend by about 10 per cent to 17 cents per share.
And Telus (TSX:T) is raising its dividend by two cents to 42 cents per share, up five per cent from the previous level.
The companies said they’ve had a good start to this year and the dividend hikes reflect their confidence.
The dividend increases were announced along with a flood of Canadian quarterly reports issued Thursday.
