NB Liquor reports increase in liquor sales and profits during last fiscal year

FREDERICTON – The president of NB Liquor credits good weather last summer as one of the factors behind increased sales and profits for the fiscal year that ended in March.

Brian Harriman says total sales for the year were $393.9 million, up 2.5 per cent from the year before.

According to a statement from NB Liquor, wine sales increased 6.5 per cent, while spirit sales jumped by 1.6 per cent and beer sales climbed 0.6 per cent.

Harriman says net earnings increased $5 million or 3.2 per cent to $166.1 million.

NB Liquor is a provincial Crown corporation with 44 corporate retail outlets and 84 private agency store outlets.
