Norbord Inc. (TSX:OSB). Forest products. Down 55 cents, or 1.73 per cent, to $31.26 on 431,407 shares. Norbord Inc. and Louisiana-Pacific Corp. have agreed to exchange ownership of two wood panel mills in Quebec. Financial terms weren’t disclosed. Louisiana-Pacific’s mill in Chambord, Que., is bigger than Norbord’s oriented strand board mill in Val-d’Or, Que., but both have been idled for a number of years.
TransForce Inc. (TSX:TFI). Transportation. Up $2.44, or 8.98 per cent, to $29.60 on 965,614 shares. TransForce Inc. is expanding its reach in the United States after Canada’s largest trucking firm acquired the North American truckload operations of XPO Logistics for US$558 million in cash. The Montreal-based transportation company announced Thursday that the purchase will make TransForce a leading player in the U.S. truckload sector.
