OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma finance officials say more than $140 million can be reallocated to state agencies because mid-year budget cuts that were ordered amid a revenue downturn were deeper than necessary.
The Office of Management and Enterprise Services announced Wednesday that it determined $140.8 million is available for reallocation following the fiscal year that ended June 30.
Republican Gov. Mary Fallin says she’s talking to legislative leaders about the possibility of a special session to consider using the money as part of a teacher pay raise package, although specific details haven’t been worked out.
Without a special session, Office of Management and Enterprise Services Director Preston Doerflinger (DOR’-fling-ur) says the money would be equally distributed among agencies that received general revenue allocations.
