Ivanhoe Cambridge to spend $20 million to upgrade Rockhill Apartments

MONTREAL – Ivanhoe Cambridge will invest $20 million to refurbish its Rockhill Apartments at the foot of Mount Royal and turn it into an upscale residential development.

Ivanhoe, a subsidiary of the Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec, said Tuesday said planned upgrades include eight fully renovated penthouses, Wi-Fi zones and a shopping gallery.

There will also be a range of exclusive services and activities for its residents.

Ivanhoe says the project gives will increase the value of a key asset in its portfolio and help breathe new life into the Montreal neighbourhood.

The 45-year-old building has more than 1,000 units in a six-building complex.
