NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Iona College has received a $15 million gift to rebuild its business school.
College officials say the donation is the largest in the school’s history.
The Journal News (http://lohud.us/1P2qwEt ) reports that it comes from 1967 graduate Robert LaPenta. He’s chairman, CEO and founding partner of the private investment firm Aston Capital.
The gift is part of a campaign to raise $150 million at the college, which now totals $63 million.
LaPenta’s pledge will enable Iona to triple the space of the business school, which is located in Hagan Hall.
LaPenta has previously made other donations to Iona, including for the construction of the LaPenta Student Union Building, the Ryan Library and the trading floor for the School of Business.
