—First budget authorization for the Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer programs in 11 years. The programs create opportunities for small businesses to become involved in research and development for the government.
—Introduced a series of bills in each Congress to make it easier for small businesses to win government contracts, reduce opportunities for fraud that would reduce contract opportunities for small companies.
—Co-sponsored and held hearing on bill repealing law requiring businesses to report to the IRS sales of goods or services over $600.
Advocated on behalf of small businesses against regulations proposed by agencies including the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Labor and Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
