WILMINGTON, N.C. – WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) _ DuPont Co. (DD) on Tuesday reported third-quarter earnings of $2 million.
The Wilmington, Delaware-based company said it had profit of less than 1 cent on a per-share basis. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and to account for discontinued operations, were 34 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 21 cents per share.
The chemical company posted revenue of $4.92 billion in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $4.88 billion.
DuPont expects full-year earnings to be $3.25 per share.
DuPont shares have climbed slightly more than 5 per cent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index has climbed slightly more than 5 per cent.
