Cargojet inks deal for space at new Hamilton airport logistics facility

HAMILTON – Cargojet Inc. (TSX:CJT) says it will be one of the users of a new $12 million air cargo logistics facility at the John C. Munro Airport in Hamilton, Ont.

The cargo airline says it will occupy about 77,000 square feet of office and warehouse space at the facility, which is slated to open next year.

The Mississauga, Ont., company says the deal will help it grow its overnight air cargo network.

The facility is funded through the federal, provincial and municipal governments, along with TradePort International Corp.

Last month, Cargojet announced it had signed a multi-year contract to provide domestic air cargo services to Canada Post and its Purolator division. It estimated the deal would provide $1 billion of revenue over the first seven years of the agreement, and could essentially double the size of its business.

Cargojet provides overnight air cargo services across North America.
