Ubisoft Montreal: Assassin's Creed III coming to America

New trailer shows latest sequel set during American Revolutionary War.

Ubisoft launches Assassin’s Creed III in October. Publicity for the game, developed in the company’s Montreal studio and six other worldwide outposts, has started rolling with the release of a new game trailer.

This is the franchise’s fifth game and was created over the last three years with a production team twice as large as any previous edition. The last game, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, hit stores late last year. Set in Constantinople in 1511 A.D., it broke series sales records. This time, gamers will play with new assassin (not named Prince Akeem) of Native American and English heritage during America’s late 18th century Revolutionary War. Red coat fever, catch it!

Created with the company’s new Ubisoft-AnvilNext game engine, Ubisoft says it offers breakthroughs in visual quality, character modeling and artificial intelligence. Also, probably some pretty sweet new kill moves.

So far, the Assassin’s Creed franchise has sold more than 38 million games and by the looks of things, should be adding to that total significantly by the end of this year.
