Hollywood director Tony Scott died on the weekend after jumping off a Los Angeles bridge. Scott is perhaps best known (aside from being Ridley’s brother) for directing blockbusters like Top Gun and Crimson Tide, as well as True Romance. But Scott also directed a ton of TV ads through his and Ridley Scott’s production company RSA Films.
One of the best was this branded content short film from a few years back for BMW, starring Clive Owen, Gary Oldman and The Godfather of Soul.
His last commercial was this Diet Mountain Dew spot, starring Mark Cuban.
As Tim Nudd at Adfreak points out, the speedboat ripping through the water at high speeds is classic Scott style.
