Juniper Park loses North American Quaker account

PepsiCo moves all creative duties from Toronto-based ad agency to EnergyBBDO in Chicago.

Toronto ad agency Juniper Park lost a huge chunk of business with PepsiCo’s announced move of all creative for Quaker Foods & Snacks North America to Chicago-based (and fellow Omnicom )agency EnergyBBDO.

A spokesperson for Quaker said, “Based on Energy BBDO’s expertise for setting global strategy and developing breakthrough creative thinking, we believe they are the right agency to help Quaker accelerate our brand positioning worldwide. We sincerely appreciate the work that Juniper Park has done for the Quaker business and thank them for all of their efforts.”

Juniper Park won North American creative duties for Quaker’s $110 million-collection of brands, including Quaker oats, Chewy granola bars and Life cereals, back in 2009. The agency debuted its first Quaker work in September 2010 with the above spot under the theme of “Amazing Mornings.”

This is the second major account shift PepsiCo has made from Juniper Park to EnergyBBDO in the past year. In August 2011, the company moved Frito-Lay brands Lay’s, SunChips and Lay’s kettle chips to the Chicago agency.

Juniper Park wouldn’t immediately comment on the account change.
